two-channel looping video installation
Migration #1 is a video collage of Vancouver commuters walking across a glass-enclosed overpass between two skytrain stations. The commuters function in a space that is neither here nor there. They are ultimately going to and coming from another place and this glass-enclosed walkway represents only a transient space; it is no one’s destination. The Migration #4 video is a recording of a daily commute of crows flying to their evening resting spot. The two videos inform and mirror each other, pushing and pulling viewer’s attention from one projection to the other, and back again.
